If you have a chance to visit Cambodia, you will be regularly offered platters of deep-fried tarantula legs to chow down on. The town of Skuon is famous for this furry, eight-legged delicacy, which is crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside and seasoned with interesting spices. The townsfolk started eating tarantulas in the days of Khmer Rouge communist domination, when food was scarce. We, people who are living in America think that spider food is dirty but trust me, it is rich of protetin but I dont even know how do they discover this food, there must have someone who start trying it first
You can find more pictures of this snack food in Cambodia, very interesting
A Cambodian girl eats a fried tarantula as a snack at Skun bus station, Kampong Cham Province. Fried tarantulas are sold daily to car and bus passengers in the town, which is about 80km from the capital Phnom Penh.
I guess you can eat tarantulas in Cambodia and I agree it might be a good idea to take a bite of that spider meat every once in awhile. Think of all the protein! Next time you are in Cambodia, make sure to get some of this grub
