Anyone who has ever ridden the subway in a major city knows that it's usually not the most pleasant experience. That's why it must have been a very welcome surprise to board the Tama Monorail Line in Japan and see that the entire train has been transformed with Ikea furnishings.
The train is located close to the new Ikea by Tokyo's Tachikawa Station. As part of the celebration of the opening of the nearby Ikea, the cars were filled with Ikea furniture, drinks and food and the outside of the car even says 'Party Train.' Not everybody could ride the train, however, as a select few Ikea employees were chosen by raffle to ride and the cars will only be decorated for the festivities for a few days. Everyone on the train participated in quizzes and board games. Sounds like a party to us!
