The son of Jackie Chan, 32-year-old Jaycee Chan, has been imprisoned for six months after being convicted on drugs charges by a Chinese court.
The actor and singer was arrested by police for the crime of sheltering others to take drugs after testing positive for marijuana and 100 grams of the drug being found in his home.
Jaycee Chan is the latest Chinese celebrity to be arrested as part of the Chinese Governments aggressive anti-narcotics campaign.
His arrest caused a lot of embarrassment for his father, Jackie, who has acted as a good will ambassador, promoting anti-drug education, for the China National Anti-Drug Committee.
Jaycee Chan voluntarily pleaded guilty to the charges according to Beijings Eastern District Court where the case was heard.
In his final statement before entering prison Mr Chan said: I have broken the law and should be punished.
When I return to society, I will not repeat this because I have let my family and friends down yet again.
In August 2014, on hearing of his sons drugs arrest, Jackie Chan wrote on his blog: Regarding this issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked.
As a public figure, Im very ashamed.
As a father, Im heartbroken.
