Psychologists say they`re seeing more people almost unable to put their cell phones down. It`s called nomophobia - short for no mobile phone phobia.
A 2012 study shows one in almost every seven people asked had some sort of addiction to their cell phones. In 2014, a study from Baylor University shows men who are addicted can spend as much as 8 hours a day on the phone, while women spend as much as 10 hours a day.
Psychologists say a cell phone addiction forms a lot like an alcohol or gambling addiction does. It starts in the part of the brain that deals with rewards and positive thoughts.
The warning signs for nomophobia include:
- always checking your phone
- worrying if you misplace your phone
- constantly worrying about your phone, even if it`s in a safe place
So do you have any problem above? I`m sure these people in the photos do.
