Skype CEO Sues Cheating Ex-Fiancee over $471,000 Engagement Ring

Danish entrepreneur Janus Friis, a Skype co-founder who sold the company to Ebay in 2005 for $2.6 billion, is suing his ex-fiancee for a $1 million because she won’t give him back his engagement ring after she allegedly had “multiple affairs and sexual encounters with other men,” reports TMZ.

In 2013, Friis gave his fiancee, Maria Louise Joenson — a Danish recording artist who goes by the name “Aura Dione” — a $471,000 engagement ring, an apartment and cash after she accepted his marriage proposal.

Friss described the ring’s 1.76-carat round brilliant-cut diamond as D color, internally flawless and having excellent symmetry. The blue pear-shaped diamonds that are inset in the 950 Platinum band originate from South Africa and collectively weigh 0.91 carats.

While the ring is worth upwards of a half a million dollars, Friis is suing Joenson for $1 million to recoup the value of his apartment and cash gifts.
