Nick Frost is proof that our dads are real-life super heroes. His six-year-old son, Ralph, suffers from a condition known as Nephrotic Syndrome. Nephrotic Syndrome causes Ralphs kidneys to leak large amounts of protein into his urine, which leads to body swelling. On top of fighting that battle, Ralph also suffers from painful blood clots that have origins doctors have yet to understand.
Back in May, Ralph had his kidneys removed with the hopes that it would stop the blood clots. Before he had this procedure, he had to undergo painful dialysis sessions nightly. He said the hardest thing during treatment was battling not to cry out during these sessions. It really hurts. But the other kids were sleeping and I didnt want to wake them up by crying.
Ralph was in desperate need of a new kidney and thanks to his selfless dad, he didnt have to look far for a miracle. After receiving his fathers kidney, Ralph, has since been discharged from the hospital in much improved health and spirits.
A family friend has put together a GoFundMe with the hopes that he can raise enough money to send the family on vacation. They havent been on holiday in so long as Ralph has been so poorly they are just such a genuinely nice family and they deserve something to look forward to. To date, the GoFundMe page has raised £1,460 of its £5,000 goal.
