Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup and Miss China, Luo Zilin made it to the Top Five of this year's Miss Universe pageant which took place in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The winner, however, was Miss Angola, Leila Lopes.

The first-runner-up position went to Miss Ukraine, Olesia Stefanko, and second-runner-up went to Miss Brazil, Priscila Machado.

Both Asians, Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup and Miss China, Luo Zilin, took the third and fourth-runner-up positions respectively.

Before the results were announced, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that a former winner of the Miss Universe title and a pageant expert had said that Miss Philippines stood a high chance of winning the crown this year.

Out of 32 Chinese beauties, the winner of Miss Universe China 2011 was chosen. Luo Zilin was crowned Miss Universe China 2011 at the Mastercard Arena in Beijing, on 10 July. Luo Zilin is from Zhejiang province in eastern China.

Also known by the name Roseline, the 24-year-old is a professional model that stands 1.82 metres tall. Miss Universe China Organisation was established in 2001 and Yue-Sai Kan has been the director of since 2011.

After winning the Miss Universe China crown, Luo Zilin will go on to compete for Miss Universe in São Paulo, Brazil in September
