Japanese idol Uehara Miyu commited suicide in her Tokyo apartment

Television personality and model Miyu Uhara was found dead in her Tokyo apartment early on the morning of May 12 in an apparent suicide.

Uehara, the youngest of 10 children and dubbed the "big family, poverty stricken entertainer," was discovered hanged in her apartment at about 2 a.m. on May 12 by a visiting friend. She was pronounced dead at hospital. She left an informal will, and the Metropolitan Police Department believes she took her own life.

A native of Kagoshima Prefecture, she appeared on TV variety shows and in photo books. She was 24 years old
