Have you ever felt your pet dog lacks a certain fluorescence? Probably not. But some dog owners - in Los Angeles, perhaps inevitably - clearly have. They have dyed their puppies' ears and tails a variety of particularly lurid colours in part of a strange new trend that is sweeping the canine community in the West Coast madhouse town. These weirdo Angelinos are not the first Californians to use bizarre colour schemes to try to improve their dogs. Ceck out these photos, you will see !

These dogs have dyed ears and tails. They don't look quite as ridiculous as some next dogs

But they do have hilariously squashed faces. It's like he ran full-tilt into a glass patio door

The dog groomer, of Yucca Valley, California (obviously) seems to believe these splendid hunting dogs are improved by being spray-painted and coiffured to look like, in this case, something out of a Care Bears remake of Jurassic Park

Or... or... what the hell is going on here? Possibly it's meant to be a turkey. The poor dog. It might be standing tall, but its eyes are screaming for its lost dignity. wait....actually, it's ugly...poor dog!

Apparently this is meant to be a UFO

This, in fairness, is pretty funny. It's a camel.  I mean from a dog to a camel and that's really hilarious
