The story begin with a mermaid-turned-human named Lucia (Jean Garcia) fell in love with a human being named Tino Wendell Ramos . They got married and had a beautiful baby girl named Dyesebel (Marian Rivera) , but instead of human baby she delivered a mermaid. they got shocked but they promised to look after their baby no matter what happened

Until the whole town discovered the couple's secret .When the community was hit with a series of catastrophes, the town believed that the anomaly was caused by Dyesebel , an accusation that led to Tino's death and wife Lucia had to offer her only daughter to the sea, where she would belong.

Dyesebel was adopted by mother Banak (Lotlot De Leon). When she became a teenager, she was the most beautiful mermaid among the other mermaids till a merman called Erebus (Alfred Vargas) fell in love with Dyesebel. In this drama, Dyesebel has an orange tail and she actually deserves to replace her mother throne as a Queen of the deep sea.

The queen of sea that took the Lucia throne, Queen Dyannga (Mylene Dizon) and her daughter, Berbola (Michelle Madrigal) are the closest enemies to Dyesebel and her mother , Lucia. One day, Dyesebel helped a man Fredo Legaspi (Dindong Dantes) from drowned. They both fell in love by the first sight . Dyesebel desired to go to the city and left the sea to meet her first-sight lover and also to find her real mother, Lucia. So , Dyesebel decided to meet Amafura (Rufa Mae Quinnto) to get a secret necklace which made her become a human , but a price must be paid. 

Facing many problems in order to meet her lover and her real mother made her become a hero of both sea and city
